Koi Garden | Coral Gables, Florida

This garden is scheduled to begin construction in 2023. 

A mature canopy of Southern Live Oaks provides a majestic setting and appropriate scale for this one-acre subtropical garden.  Curated palm species and a refined palette of evergreen borders will frame a distinct collection of broad leaf perennials and subtropical ground covers.  Central to the residence's living spaces, a sunken terrace and koi pond will be embraced by a lush, tropical landscape and the cool sound of running water.

The single family home, originally designed by South Florida architect Cesar Molina, boosts architectural elements found in traditional Southern architecture.  A broad veranda wraps the living spaces of the residence allowing visitors to experience the garden from the vantage point of a raised promenade.  The covered walkway connects the main residence to the guest quarters and the perimeter gardens.

Designed to compliment the lifestyle of a young, active family, the gardens will feature a series of outdoor spaces and program elements that evolve with the household.  Outdoor terraces within view of the main living rooms are complimented by hidden gardens and private lounge areas.  The family will enjoy the benefits of year-round activities including a full size basketball court, a children's playground and new swimming pool.
